- Google penalized the site: Google may take a “Manual Action” against a website if it goes against Google’s webmaster quality guidelines.
- The site doesn’t meet Google’s quality guidelines: Google may remove a site from its index if it doesn’t meet Google’s quality guidelines.
- The site is new: A new website or page might not appear in Google search results.
- The site blocks search engines: The site might be set to block search engines from indexing it.
- The site contains malicious content: Google checks pages for malicious scripts or downloads, content violations, policy violations, and other quality and legal issues.
Other reasons a website might disappear from Google search include:
- The site has been migrated or deleted
- Security issues have been reported on the site
To improve Google’s ability to find and crawl a site, you can: Submit a Sitemap and Monitor Index Status.
You can also use the Removals tool to temporarily remove a page from Google Search. However, the page will return to search results if no changes are made to the website.
